Attendance

When Your Child Is Sick:

  • Please phone the attendance clerk on the morning of the day that your child will be absent at 869-2597.

  • A written excuse is required from you each time your child is absent, tardy or dismissed early.

  • Excuses for absences are to be brought to the school on the day your child returns to school or the absences will be marked unexcused.

  • To release your child for an appointment during school hours, please go to the main office to sign out and pick up your child. Your child must be signed back in upon return.

The attendance rate is important because students are more likely to succeed in academics when they attend school consistently. It’s difficult for the teacher and the class to build their skills and progress if a large number of students are frequently absent. In addition to falling behind in academics, students who are not in school on a regular basis are more likely to get into trouble with the law and cause problems in their communities.

Why Attendance Matters?
